My assumption is that bars and restaurants will re-open with the pre-shutdown social distancing measures in place. In that case, I'd gladly go back out to enjoy a beer and some company. I've been comfortable going and grabbing takeout because restaurants have been pretty stringent in their cleaning practices, and I would suspect that would continue.

Full arena for a Capitals game though? Probably not ... not like I think that's even going to be an option. If live sports return, it will be with limited or no fans for a good amount of time.

I read somewhere, maybe on another thread here, that one medical expert is saying it will be fall 2021 before large-scale gatherings like concerts and sporting events should happen. That makes me sad, because I had some great concert tickets lined up this fall.

My bar is up the street. I live in the country kind of. But there’s a a crab place 1 mile up the street. Great crabs crab cakes fried oysters and onion rings. A mile past that is another bar. Great crab cakes, Maryland crab soup, awesome tavern burgers and great onion rings. Across the street from some of the best Al Pastor tacos you can get.
All three have great to go cocktails.

this whole situation sucks made worse by the worst human being with power since Pol Pot and the worse political party since the National Socialists of 1936.

but the food and drink has been excellent, so far

Trump can reopen the country but the country isn’t reopened until people are comfortable that they/their children are safe interacting with others. I run a volleyball club. Even if trump/governors say “ may 1, let’s go” I don’t expect my kids will be back unless there’s widespread testing and doctors/scientists agree it’s safe. And even then they will be wary.

Of course they can, but the sane can look at the 30-40% unemployment rate that will go along with this length of social distancing and say that we need to go back.
