My wife and I just finished Unbelievable, an eight-episode limited series on Netflix. I thought it was well done, but we both tend to like police precedurals. The series follows the aftermath of a teenage girl being raped in 2008, but people won't believer her, including the police. The first few episodes are slow and I think that is intentional, to force the audience to really see the trauma the victim suffers. It is a bit heavy-handed with the message of men in law enforcement failing women and often being bad guys, but overall we thought it was worth watching.

I'm a huge fan of Merrit Wever. She brings depth to the comedies she does and some humor to the dramatic stuff she does.

It is very good, but damn, those first two or three episodes are slow. By the end of the second episode, we weren't sure about continuing. I'm glad we did.

Anyone else watching McMillions? It's an HBO doc series (also available on Hulu) on how the McDonald's Monopoly game from the late 1990s-early 2000s was fixed so the same family won the grand prizes. Fascinating stuff, the FBI agents in charge of investigating were interviewed and everything.

It’s tremendous. FBI guy Doug is something else!

As a Black Mirror fan, I’ve found “Tales From the Loop” on Prime. Any other fans?

I started "Money Heist" last night. S1 E1 didn't grab me. E2 did. I'll stick around.
Just one question, probably premature: With this being planned by Professor for years and his crew for months, how did he know there would be a school field trip so they could grab the big-shots daughter?

I realize its just a TV show, but when you tell the audience (via the title character) that the dead sister killed herself because she was high on drugs and pregnant, then in the finale reveal that she wasn't on drugs and supposedly now none of the family knew she was pregnant when she died - you really need to justify another season. The storytelling has gotten very sloppy.

Up to Ep 6, Season 3 of Ozark. Didn't hook me originally but the machinations are so good and well written. I like the changes in Marty and Wendy and Ruth especially. Ruth gets the best lines.
