With the caveat that there are some differences state to state because the federal response has been so muddled, you're off base on almost all of these.

--- You can drive to a park. A lot of community and state parks are open throughout the country, provided people don't congregate together and don't do group activities. But if you want to go for a walk, bike, rollerblade, etc., you can. You can drive to a state park with a lake and fish if it is in season in your state. The key is that these locations are relatively close - 15 to 20 miles, and don't drive across the state - and you maintain distance from other people.

--- Public amenities like tennis courts, basketball courts, etc. are typically closed because people touch shit. They touch door handles, locks, gates, etc. The very nature of these amenities invites people to congregate, as well. If you've got a basketball hoop in your driveway or space to hit tennis balls by yourself or with someone in your household, go for it.

---- It's almost like this is an evolving issue. Again, the messaging from a federal standpoint has been horrible. President Trump announces the CDC's recommendation to wear a mask and in the same breath says he's not wearing one. When that happens, of course there is confusion. But even setting aside that stupidity, the best practices have changed as we've understood more about how this virus is transmitted from person to person.

---- The number of customers allowed per store is often determined by that store's square footage. Stores are using that to try and guesstimate how far apart shoppers can be. Is it effective? I don't know. But there is at least some rationale behind it.

---- It's not about the stylist washing or even touching your hair. It's standing near you and breathing. Plus, a haircut is not essential. Pain management, however, is essential. For many people who go to chiropractors, those regular adjustments and manipulations are critical to their physical well-being and reduction of discomfort and pain. It is understood that there is more inherent risk by being so close to someone, but it's also expected that your chiro is taking steps to sanitize the office, especially high touch areas like the adjustment table, and will close down if anyone in the office contracts the virus.

I don't even want to think about going to the doctor's or a hospital now. Too much going on.

I wouldn't bother, either. But the "no more prescription refills without doctor visit'' rule forces our hands.

By the time I actually see this doctor (July 15 is the new appointment), it will have been two years. He canceled on me last August, but extended my prescription six months. When I called for an appointment in January, April 16 was earliest date available. So he had to bridge me another three months for the prescription. And today it was extended ANOTHER three months.

Went to the eye doctor Monday. They changed up the appointment schedule so only one person in waiting room at a time. All employees in masks, all equipment wiped down while I was there.

I did a virtual visit by video because I’ve had a pain in my arm/shoulder which isn’t getting better. Let’s just say that it wasn’t a positive experience.

It’s a shitload of loans, many of which are super small and which are processed through a ton of banks. I’d cut them a little slack.

I’ve had a number of friends apply, with varying degrees of success. Basically, if you aren’t going to be firing your workforce, it’s stupid not to take the money. On top of that, I’m sure that the banks want the loans off of their books and want to be reimbursed by the government as soon as possible, so they are going to be forgiving without looking super closely at the supporting documentation.

Same experience here. Next appointment with my doc is in early June, so we have time. Different story for my mother, who has a new PCP after the last one misdiagnosed a mini stroke as Bell's Palsy. Ended up meeting the new one via video conference. Also had a phoner with a cardiologist.

I need some physical therapy appointments, and that's right out. My wife was due to see a hand specialist, and that's pushed back as well.

I got text messages yesterday and today reminding me of a dental appointment today. I went. Nobody home.

Did you read the article? Qualification as a small business is based on the number of employees. Medium and smaller hedge funds have been getting loans. Not my idea of "small business" loans.
