Because testing is at an entirely different level of complexity from a vaccine. For a start, nothing is given to the patient, so there are no possible side effects.

There are eighty plus tests under development, with varying degrees of success, most of which have been deployed with only one being certified.


And counting every soul in the country has nothing whatsoever to do with testing people who have symptoms and keeping track of the results when the whole country is focused on Covid-19 prevention.

 

Russia had it first. That's how they know that they have so few cases.

 

They have almost as many new cases today as Italy. It's an ongoing battle (that they've been doing relatively well against). But cracks are showing. It helps when the majority of the population is raised to believe their first priority is to serve the state, the community. Not themselves. And getting paid for the entire month of April helps, too.

 

True, but I'm all in favor of the Trump campaign blowing wads of cash on the Trump kids...better than spending it on ads that might result in votes, plus you get the added benefit of knowing the MAGA crowd are getting snookered yet again.

You remember the old jokes about how whatever it was, Russia claimed to have done/invented it first? It was a play on that.

For someone who loves Russia so much you seem to be the exact opposite of someone who looks out for the greater good and not yourself first.

 

Possible issue here: Missouri opens too soon and people from Illinois flood St. Louis. Of course, many will be black people from East St Louis, so Trumpists won’t care, but ....

 

You have a warped lens of who I am and look at everything through that lens.

A premature reopening of America followed by another huge spike in virus cases and fatalities followed by another shutdown would be the result that'd sink Trump's re-election bid for keeps. So naturally it's what he wants, because to him, November is as faraway and foreign a concept as it would be for an Irish setter.
