The story I'm curious about is WHERE are people contracting it from vis a vis a month ago?

Most of the country has been in some kind of lockdown for 3-4 weeks. We know what to do (wash hands, don't touch face, stand 6+ feet apart, yada yada yada). The businesses that are open have employees wearing masks and gloves and limit the number of people in the building and tell people where to stand, etc.

It stands to reason someone who contracted it in mid-March could have done so at the office, at a basketball game, at a movie, etc. But where are they contracting it from NOW? How have the transmission channels changed (if they have changed)?

Journalists changing their profile pic to one wearing a mask is the new "Wash Your Hands" Twitter handle.

Service workers, medical workers and factory workers are leading the infections now.

That's because the poor bastards can't, or in the case of medical workers, won't, stay home.

MTA, the New York City and suburban transit system, has had 60 workers die of the virus. like 4000 cases out of 90,000 workers. Subways can't shut down or the city stops cold. They get it. Story in the Philadelphia Inquirer today. Counties in Pennsylvania with the highest rates of infection per capita are Luzerne, where the biggest town, Hazleton, is home to two now-shut food processing facilities, and Monroe, which is the Poconos. There it's been spread by New Yorkers and New Jerseyites who have vacation homes there and went to avoid the virus but took it with them instead.

True! Social distancing slows the spread...it doesn’t prevent it.

Hound the guy from all sides, I still say. He's a bully and a vain bastard, so he wilts under hard, sustained pressure.

The time is now. If not now, when? He already feels trapped and unliked, which he hates. So push the bully harder now. Challenge him on everything, from all sides, all day, every day. FATUS knows he's all hat and no cattle, so he just goes full blast all the time and counts on people being sheeple. Stand up and fight back instead.

‘Are you telling New York City to drop dead?’ de Blasio asks Trump, citing legendary News cover

“Mr. President, are you going to save New York City or are you telling New York City to drop dead?”
Hizzoner said at a Sunday press conference. ...

De Blasio took a chiding tone with Trump as he cited the Daily News’ 1975 rebuke of former President Gerald Ford’s refusal to aid the Big Apple as it reeled from a fiscal crisis.

“What’s going on, cat got your tongue?
You're usually really talkative. You usually have an opinion on everything. How on earth do you not have an opinion on aid to America’s cities and states,” the mayor said.

They're not comparable events, for one thing.

For another, if they were, you'd include the 3 million Vietnamese killed in Vietnam.

I dunno. Maybe. Who has any idea?

I trust China to be what China has long been: A fascist Communist nation that lies. Russia used to lie, too. A lot. China doesn't have a free press.

We have been told by the Republicans that the right to life is supposedly paramount (well, at least for fetuses) over every other right, including bodily autonomy. Democrats have disagreed with that assertion.

Now Republicans say that the right to life is not paramount because of economic reasons. Now they know how poor pregnant women feel.
