In non-Larson moments from last night, Jordan Taylor (see lower left of video) was using a motion rig to race. He wrecked hard … an-n-n-n-nd so did his motion rig.

If an NBA or NFL player dropped the N-bomb, it would be a big deal but not this big of a deal. See Riley Cooper. Race and NASCAR have a tenuous relationship.

Nah, pretty sure it would be a big deal in the NBA if a white player dropped the hard-R.

  4. It was already going to be a crazy silly season in NASCAR due to expiring contracts and possible retirements. A lot of moves that would make sense to me, after this happened:

Ross Chastain to the Ganassi 42 car (might have happened anyway after the season).
Brad Keselowski to the Hendrick 48 car (bring back the number 5 and "retire" 48).
Matt DiBenedetto to the Penske 2 (seems like the worst possible scenario for him now is to stay with the Wood Brothers, an excellent fit).

Just my opinion, but Larson never should have used this language. Will be hard to recover from this in a sport where you need sponsorship backing and talent doesn't always win the day. DiBenedetto is a Top 10 driver -- look how long it took him to even get to this point.

Ganassi can say "after much consideration" but surely all of its other sponsors were ready to bail if Larson didn't get whacked. Very unlikely he ever drives another Cup car, there's just not enough money in the sport anymore for an owner to take on that hassle.

The way the sponsors’ announcements were worded, it was clear they still wanted to associate with CGR (although Credit One’s deal ends after this season). Larson had become another story, obviously.

    Hope he saved his money.

    I know, but still.
There's just so much wrong with that whole scenario.
