I read an excellent, reasoned analysis of Kemp's possible thinking. Basically:

BTW order structured to mostly affect black, Hispanic and poor, who if they stay home voluntarily can't file for unemployment on a system that will be broke within a year without a tax hike -- anathema to Kemp's base and which would require an amendment to the state constitution.

    Are Arthur Bremer's descendants busy?

Our guy recommended Valero, FWIW. He said they're versatile enough to be profitable when the price of oil is down, as well as when it is high. They're trading at $50 right now, compared to $100/share in November, and a high of $123 back in 2018, I think it was.

Our guy is not sold that the recent bounce back is real, and thinks there could be some more pain coming. That said, if we are looking for longer-term investments (which we are), Disney and Valero are the companies he is recommending, along with some other investments.

As far as Disney goes, his point was that while their main revenue streams may take some time to recover, theme parks, sports and movies are pretty likely to rebound. As he said, there are no safe investments. Every time you put money on the line, there's risk. But getting Disney at a discount ($100 today vs. $151 in November) is often a good bet.

I'm curious about Big Ragu's thoughts.

While Gov. Ivey actually sounded smart today, Alabama Secretary of State and Chief Vote suppressor John Merrill really showed his ass. Note that Kinko's has been The UPS Store for like fifteen years, and there are many poor and rural voters who are nowhere near such a store.
