Also an ex-Daily type. Mostly follow out of a sense of nostalgia, and sports scores.

The Jersey 4 Jersey benefit has been really well done. Bruce, Bon Jovi, Halsey, Tony Bennett and Fountains of Wayne so far. Colbert, Stewart, De Vito, Rock and Handler also.

So with scientists showing dramatic improvement in the environmental health of our planet brought about by COVID-19, does that change people's minds about global warming? Make people think it's not a problem anymore so we can go back to what we were doing before? Think we can count on another pandemic next time the CO2 gets too far out of whack?

At least 48,000 Americans are dead tonight, slayed by a virus 99.9 percent of us had not heard of just 112 days ago (Jan. 1, 2020).

Think about that for a moment. 48,000. It's a remarkable total.

If 48,000 Americans had been killed by a meteor strike in Missouri, it would be the biggest news story in American history. Instead, they were killed by a virus they didn't know existed back when they were opening Christmas presents from their loved ones...the same people who most likely were not able to be holding their hands when they slipped off this mortal coil. Again, that's remarkable.

I don't think the reality of the situation's gravity has sunk in yet to the American concisousness.
