You don't know that they are not an asymptomatic carrier, not do they know that about you. If they repeat this behavior all day for days at a time, the chances are that they will get infected and begin to infect their customers - and you don't know whether that has already happened or not. My liquor store has barriers which make it impossible to get closer than six feet to an employee unless some idiot jumps them.
