NK’s official TV channel’s Sunday schedule normally has it coming on air at something like 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday in the United States. It’s showing the test pattern right now and they apparently haven’t called the Pink Lady in from retirement, so they aren’t reacting to anything at the moment, and it looks like they’ve started mentioning the Kim family on TV again at what counts as a normal clip for Korea Central (KCNA Watch counts and graphs the mentions), although apparently not about Un’s whereabouts. That may mean he’s out of danger. It may also mean that the government wants people to assume he’s out of danger and things are getting back to normal, even if they’re not.

And this is the kind of whataboutism at which YankeeFan excels at the other board.

Also, the mayor of a city and POTUS are not on equal footing in terms of impact or access to intelligence. This shouldn’t have to be explained to a supposedly smart person.

Yep. You’re right, it’s March 2. I wrote the date of the movie in error.

The point - my point - is nobody really knew. the mayor isn’t a dumb or unusually negligent man, nor does he live on some weird island where medical experts couldn’t have told him that, by March 2, he was wrong in ways that represented a clear and present danger to the citizens of NYC. Plus, he’s an avowed opponent of the president, so he surely would not have been relying on that guy - whom he hates and thinks he’s a moron - to protect the city.

In other words, well-meaning people who *politcally agree with you* didn’t know enough. Medical experts didn’t know enough. Spain didn’t know enough. France didn’t know enough. The UK didn’t know enough.

Maybe everyone should have, and it’s heartbreaking that they didn’t, and yes Trump is a bad president and a bad person and all those other things, but good people with the correct, super-approved views didn’t know either. It’s awful. We just didn’t know.

I’m not sure there’s anyone who needs to be blamed, but, if there is, it’d be the nation that lied, a lot, at its outset. And that’s China.
