I’ve liked it so far. But it gets no deeper than maybe the dynamics of a successful team. It pales in comparison to the OJ doc which was about much deeper themes like race, identity and celebrity.

Actually, Buss had a meeting with Jerry West and Bill Sharman days BEFORE Magic's famous "I'm gonna ask the man to trade me" outburst in Utah.

Buss told them he was planning to fire Westhead, but that they could talk him out of it. But it had to be unanimous to talk him out of it.

    It wasn't.

So Buss said, "OK, Westhead is gone. When do we make the announcement?"

West said, "Wait a few days. Let me poke around and look into possible replacements."

Couple of days later, Magic demands to be traded, Westhead is fired, and Magic gets all the blame.

Really? I got involved in broadcasting in 1982 and never learned that.

I may be missing something, but it seems odd to criticize a media company for airing something with the goal of attracting ratings.

I think my main takeaway from this series is that ESPN should put up some big bucks to stage a Bulls-Pistons Oldtimer's Game. They all still obviously hate each other. It'd be awesome.

Could we have Dennis Rodman doing a slow walk down the entrance ramp, while Jim Ross screams, "WHO'S SIDE IS HE ON?!?" (RIP Bobby Heenan.)

True ... but my criticism is of one media company. Despise what it evolved into. Granted, that was corporate and management's doing.

And it doesn't need 10 hours. I'm watching too and it's great sports catnip for the moment we're living in, but it's absolutely being stretched to the limit.

As the guy from the West Coast Ws fan, I rooted for Indiana to beat MJ and NC, but I loved MJs rise and especially their beat down of the Pistons, and I love this series. I wish it was 20 hours. Seeing Horace Grant, Purdue, Wennington (highest paid cameraman!), Collins and then MJ Pippen and Phil Talk about real issues? How about Harper talking about Wilkens putting Ehlo on MJ in that last shot?? It’s all Fantastic.

The most glaring change vs today? Look at how MJ (and others) respected and cherished the regular season, just loved playing b-ball. I think players today have lost that.
