Agreed. And I don't need ESPN tweeting all week about the doc like it's the second coming of Citizen Kane. I'm enjoying the heck out of it on Sunday nights but I'm not sure I would treat it the same way if we had actual live sports to watch right now. Would probably catch it on demand at some point rather than live.

He'd come walking out in his Lakers jersey.

Man, everyone got annoyed by this comment. I simply heard this:

    1) Scottie Pippen and his delayed surgery would beg to differ
    2) MJ certainly had a great work ethic and treated every game as if it were important but I’ve watched a lot of NBA TV and some of those games don’t have 1/4 of the defense of the game today
    3) Players resting sucks as a fan of the game, but it is the rational choice for players who are older and/or returning from injury. As the end of the day, they don’t award regular season championships.

What else do you have to do?

Is there more compelling tv on that this is preventing you from watching?

"I don't see why we have to play 82 games just to eliminate the Knicks from the playoffs" -- Wilt Chamberlain in 1964, when the NBA had like 8-9 teams.

Well, my Netflix queue is overflowing and I keep meaning to get through my WKRP in Cincinnati box set ... like I said, I'm watching this and I'm even watching at 9 p.m. ET sharp so as to make it feel like appointment TV. But there's a lot of ESPN-flex in this that is just silly, like Carmelo and Chris Paul offering their remembrances.

All the other espn extensions are silly.

I find the doc to be a solid two hours every sunday.

I was thinking what other ones would I want to see, and Tyson jumps out at me.

The beauty of the 80s and 90s is a lot of 15-25 year olds have heard their parents talk about these teams or athletes, so there is a desire to learn more about them.

    Tiger is another.

And Bo, even though the 30 for 30 was great.

This. Maybe Scout is a lot younger than I and, of course, he would enjoy the documentary. For me, you've stated my sentiments better than I originally did. Just don't deal with media hype very well. Then again, I'm an old fart.
