Running 2020 PGA Tour thread

You can play the Stadium Course at Sawgrass for a "discounted" rate of $350 right now, because 17 is closed. SMH, as the kids say.

No. 14 is a bitch. The thing about 17 is that you're thinking about it from the moment you wake up to play, not to mention the first 16 holes. And if you're playing well (eh, unlikely for most tourists there), then 17 is even more of a gut check. The thought of not playing it is just absurd -- go home and tell your buddies you played the Stadium and all they'll want to know is what you did on 17.

 

For sure, and that course gets babied perhaps like no other outside Augusta. But to charge $350 as the heat picks up and not have 17, that's pretty shameless. But maybe not much tourist play anyway the next couple months.

 

But it's not the same course. Everyone's got their number and $350 wouldn't be it for me to play the "Home of THE PLAYERS" (Tour emphasis!) without shaking in my FootJoys on 17 tee.

 

Though I don't quite understand why the Tour hasn't come out and said they'll have 18 designated volunteers whose only job all day is to pull the flag and rake greenside bunkers, these comments make the pro game look incredibly bad.
