If Dems turn out, it’s over. Midterms were a good indicator. And the dem electorate has reason to be even more fired up since then.

Forget the Bernie Bros (and Biden has already incorporated many of his ideas). Forget Justin Amash. Forget the noise.

Supposed Never Trumpers who would vote for Amash were never going to vote for Biden.

Dems turn out and we win.

If this is right, someone's gonna have their ass in a sling.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/04/28/senators-demand-answers-pompeo-wuhan-lab-cables/

"The State Department was warned two years ago of safety concerns at a Wuhan lab doing dangerous research on bat coronaviruses. Now, two Democratic senators want to know if those warnings were ignored — and why, despite these warnings, the Trump administration reduced our government’s health presence in China before the novel coronavirus pandemic broke out.

On Tuesday, Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting information about two sensitive but unclassified diplomatic cables sent from the U.S. Embassy in Beijing back to the State Department in Washington in early 2018. The cables, one of which I obtained, reported that scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology complained about a lack of properly trained technicians and investigators needed to safely operate their highest-security lab, which claimed the top level of biological security (Biosafety level 4).. The U.S. diplomats also warned of the risk of a new virus pandemic breaking out at the lab if more wasn’t done to address these concerns."

"The senators also want to know: What did the State Department do to follow up on the cables? Did the U.S. government investigate its assertions, address its concerns, share the information with other agencies, engage the Chinese government on the matter or offer the WIV lab the help it was clearly asking for to be able to operate safely?

Why did the Trump administration slash the staff of our own CDC inside China in 2018 and 2019? And why did the Trump administration cancel funding for the USAID Predict program, which was trying to prevent the next viral pandemic by working with Chinese researchers, including the WIV lab? Murphy is proposing new funding for international public health infrastructure and restoration of the mechanisms the Trump administration cut.

“If you got this cable and you had an infrastructure inside China that could help you investigate the claims, you would think the response would be to increase that presence,” Murphy said. “It appears that the Trump administration’s response to these cables was to pull out our investigators rather than empower them.”

I think that’s a fair assessment. Damned if you, damned or you don’t.

On Biden and the Tara Reade allegation, do our normal standards apply?

"But Republicans who are certain they’ve caught Democrats in a double standard should ask whether normal standards really should apply during a dire crisis such as the current pandemic. For even if I didn’t believe in a mercy standard for decades-old crimes, I’d still argue that however important it is to protect victims of abuse, protecting them very much includes getting the Republic out of the hands of our current fool of a president."

Biden has paid lip service to some of Bernie’s ideas but he has not adopted them. What has he incorporated other than means tested student debt relief for a small fraction of those with debt?

Agreed on turnout, but I personally wouldn’t bank on a high turnout right now.
This has been addressed. First off, anyone criticizing her for not coming forward earlier shouldn’t have an opinion unless they’ve been a victim of sexual assault or been around someone who has. You can’t understand if you haven’t been through it in some way.

It’s common for victims of abuse to not tell their entire story all at once, particularly when it’s going to be a very public experience that brings vitriol from strangers. She said that she didn’t come forward when Obama ran because she was afraid to do so at the time and didn’t want to destroy the campaign of someone who had nothing to do with it. That won’t be good enough for some, but it seems reasonable.

We don’t have to go back and forth about the credibility of the claim. I obviously don’t know if it’s true, but I know that many have already made up their mind and it’s not encouraging.

But would they, after seeing what their disappearing act in 2016 wrought in Trump? Ornate they that all-in on their guy?

PC, it’s cool if you want to ride or die with Biden. But none of those accusations against Obama or HRC had the type of corroboration that this accusation has against Biden. No one knows if this happened (though many think they know) but this is not dying the mainstream media and is no longer being recognized solely by the right and the Bernie circus.

Justin Amash is going to run for President. The next Ralph Nader on a dangerous ego trip.

You need to offer real numbers and not anecdotal twitter evidence. “Many have already make up their minds” is complete crap.

Assuming it’s a “normal” election and people can vote as usual (covid being contained) the turnout is trending high. Wisconsin last month shows how huge Dem motivation is in the face of danger.

Biden is far more aligned with Bernie’s views than Republicans. And he’s moving left. If Bernie’s people want to pick getting trump again instead of something of their direction? Then they can go fuck themselves and sustain their hunger on their self-righteous bullshit.

You know what though? It doesn’t matter. They don’t come out to vote in numbers that matter. Sitting at home won’t make a difference this time.
