Even relatively dinky New Hampshire International is a big, big place. Plenty of room to spread out without spectators. On pit row, not so much, but everybody's already in protective gear there.

Take them to Talladega. Would boggle their minds.

Typical big football stadiums would easily fit inside Charlotte or Darlington. Several typical big football stadiums would fit inside Talladega, with room left over for Bristol and Martinsville.

Already handicapping. And I haven’t watched NASCAR in 15 years.

    Have you met Kyle Busch?

Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and anyone else who occasionally does a full weekend tripleheader might try it. If you think about the normal schedule, they might run six races in nine days. Some of them do testing or find a dirt track to run at in the middle of the week.
This is only one more race, and the second Cup races at both places are a lot shorter than normal (500 kilometers/310 miles instead of 400 or 500 miles). The two big factors are that they haven't said when the next race will be after Charlotte, so guys might want to pace themselves; and the schedule is misaligned from the traditional Friday-Sunday weekend format.

Of course. But the original question was whether 7 races in 11 days is too much for these guys, the overall answer is "no" but the fact is no one will want to do all of them/have the rides to do it except probably him. But with the way Nascar keeps tinkering with the fields to keep Cup guys from poaching, would he be allowed to do all 7?

I think there could be opportunities here because of the lack of practice sessions for some races. Bet guys who are good right off the truck. Which may be the usual suspects anyway, but still. I'll take a look at the matchups.

I saw a full-blown youth practice happening today. It was a travel ball team and I thought “where the fuck are they planning to go!?!”

State high school association here waiting until June to make a decision about the fall sports season. Yeah .... no.

At best, five-game league schedule for football, let everyone into the playoffs.

I don't think we will have high school football and basketball seasons next school year. Just a hunch, no inside information.

A big part of many high school football programs is some sort of summer camp, either at the high school or (through fundraising) spending a week at a college for camp.

Can't imagine any of that happening in June or July.

A high school officiating camp (with numerous high school teams) I was scheduled to go to the first week of June at Northern Colorado University just canceled this week.

All of the college-centric officiating camps involving high school teams have canceled.

The last one out there that I'm scheduled to go to in late June is in Utah and has not canceled yet, but I would be shocked if it isn't.
