    1. I wear a mask everywhere.

    2. We weren't even recommended we should wear masks until April 3 (and, really, the advice was more widespread a week later). Prior to that, American citizens were advised not to do it.

    3. So the whole moral indignation - on either side - is a little much. Especially when...this graf (copied from a Costco employee!) shows up midway through:

There are far bigger assaults on one’s 'freedom' and autonomy. Did you know that many adult women can’t get their tubes tied without their partner’s written consent? Abortion bans. Child trafficking. Sex trades. Discrimination of age, gender, religion, sexual preference. Blink. Blink. Blink.

    4. When a "Costco employee" slips in that line of political orthodoxy, well, it's about a little bit more than a small, pleasant plea for kindness, isn't it?

You wrote that as if April 3 was yesterday. It's been a month. That is more than long enough to figure it out. Please stop making excuses for ignorant, selfish assholes.

Why don’t people complain that they are required to wear pants?

April 3 was a Friday. You always have to assume, you know, 5-7 days for people to actually start doing what you recommend, so it's been 3 weeks or so.

I’d risk betting all the anchovies in my food larder that the folks who complain about wearing masks and the folks who complain about how other people wear their pants would overlap more than a wee bit on a Venn diagram.

Amazon was pretty well out of masks and hand sanitizer by the first week of March.

Once again when you’re not the target of those “little” discriminations you don’t think it’s a big deal. That’s not political orthodoxy, that’s someone’s life (but not yours).

Coronavirus Live Updates: Trump Administration Models Predict Near Doubling of Daily Death Toll by June

As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.

The projections, based on modeling by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and pulled together in chart form by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, forecast about 200,000 new cases each day by the end of the month, up from about 25,000 cases now.
