FIENDISH YELLOW DEVILS

 

This has spread like wildfire the past few days. There are a few factors for the published number -- one it's a date range, two it says the numbers lag, among a few things -- but basically the people touting it are just cherry picking numbers they don't understand anyway.

Yet it's being touted as gospel by the people using it like everything is all made up. Let's not even mention it's the CDC that said there could be 3,000 deaths a day by June.

Plus, like you said, even if it was true, is 37,000 people not awful?

 

Virginia is extending non-essential business closures until next Friday, but the "stay at home" order through June 10 becomes a "safer at home directive." So sounds like a soft opening will happen a week from Friday.

That was another part of his argument, that even if the 68K was right, that's still not a lot out of 330 million, you're far more likely to get killed in a car crash, blah, blah, blah.
Like I said, this guy isn't a deplorable or even a nut, he's not pushing to reopen the economy, etc. He just gets some crazy stuff in his head from time to time.
