No, I posted it late. I figure some folks simply didn't see it, and that the implications might have gone past some as well, so I put it back up with a bit of explanation.

Burr has bucked Trump fairly often as the Chair of the Senate Intel Comm. He has not swept things under the rug, and that committee has been far more bipartisan than the House Intel Comm, where Nunes has done all he could to cork up and dispute the findings. Burr on Trump's bad side, part five about to be released, and Burr gets hit this way? Sure, it could be totally business as usual, with the insider trading being the cause. Still, they didn't grab Sen. Loeffler's phone at the same time. You would think such seizures would be coordinated so that she could not tamper with hers, given the warning.

They're not "skeptical" of the numbers, they're fucking terrified of the numbers.

 

Unmasking is cool if Trump does it at a factory or a WWII veterans event, but not when Obama did it in 2016.

 

I think the President thinks you can just flick the Coronavirus switch off and the economy switch on - he doesn't realize you need to dial them both in together. If people don't think it's safe to go out - the economy is finished. The lockdown was the easy part.

For Trump, Following the Law Is an Undue Burden

 

One of the dissents in the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling yesterday came from Republican justice Brian Hagedorn. I agree 100 percent with what he said, and if he rules that way always, he will be a great role model for all justices everywhere, including Washington. He said:

"We are a court of law. We are not here to do freewheeling constitutional theory. We are not here to step in and referee every intractable political stalemate.

"In striking down most of (the order), this court has strayed from its charge and turned this case into something quite different than the case brought to us.

"To make matters worse, it has failed to provide almost any guidance for what the relevant laws mean, and how our state is to govern through this crisis moving forward.

"The legislature may have buyer's remorse for the breadth of discretion it gave to (the Department of Health Services). But those are the laws it drafted; we must read them faithfully whether we like them or not."
