Developing a vaccine is not simply a matter of hard work and elbow grease.

The orange ape is doing such a disservice right now to people who won't understand how difficult developing a vaccine is, and the will to develop one aside, how the vast majority of clinical trials have historically been failures when it comes to vaccines.

They can go years, working really dilligently, and not develop something that they can prove to be safe and effective.

People should know that. And we should not be counting on a vaccine anytime soon. The ridiculous timelines, like it's just a matter of working harder, and the false hope and sunshine-up-the-ass approach, may hurt more than it helps.

They should be telling us that researchers are working really hard at it, and that a ton of resources are being devoted, and it's a main priority, and that obviously we are all really hopeful and want it badly, and our best people are on it.

Beside that, though, they shouldn't be doing big announcements UNTIL a vaccine is nearly ready to go and millions of doses have been produced.

Instead, we are getting "Operation Warp Speed." Man the torpedos, and send a few more nuclear submarines into the battle. We'll prevail!

Maybe we could nuke the virus. It works so well against hurricanes.

I'd say the chance of some Elizabeth Holmes type hustler selling Trump a vaccine that's Gatorade mixed with Tylenol shortly before Election Day is close to 100 percent.

It's just like how he embraced hydroxycholorquine before the tests were done. He's looking for a quick fix where none exists.

Weren't we supposed to have "the greatest health care" by now anyway?

So strict lockdowns accounted for less than a 4% drop in consumer spending.
