Looks more like Michelin Man Of the Year.

Why are you dismissing meatpacking workers, inmates and nursing home residents? Just let 'em die, eh?

I am sorry to confuse. They sentence was in the New York Times editorial. I did not write it myself.

My brother, a high school athletic director in California, stopped reading after getting to page 6 and said, "This is not realistic."

    Agreed.

It's like they set out to write a plan they knew no one could comply with.

Lucky for him, he doesn't have a heart.

Which is why he figured, "What have I got to lose?"

Sorry, I should know better than to try to type using only two fingers on a mobile device . . . Maddow, not Maddox. She said this was a county project.

The people writing these guidelines are in outbreak mode. Remember: Someone, a month ago, hypothesized that what America could use was a magic wand that made everybody freeze for 14 days. I think some grace is deserved for public health scientists. First, they've trained their whole life for this, the moment is here, and a lot of their training and theorizing was built for whatever happens in the movie Contagion. (Which I have seen.) Second, they've got 1918 rattling around in their heads, because health, medical and sanitation standards haven't changed at all since then. Third, there's the media, the majority of which has a "shut this motherfucking country down!" vibe.

There's a lot of pressure to be as draconian as possible. You win no awards for permissiveness, for a mild warning, for common sense prevention standards. You won't even get a thank you from the people who get more freedom as a result.

It reads like it is designed to provide school districts with cover in the event of litigation.

No, they are consulting with their lawyers and insurance providers and are doing everything they can to cover their asses from future lawsuits. It has nothing to do with anything else.

Took it this morning. Pretty simple — a couple of drops from your finger and you wait the 10 minutes while it is processed. Unfortunately negative. The place said that they had tons of tests both for the virus and the antibody.

I don't care what the topic, this line of thinking always drives me nuts.
    Experts. Studies. Etc.
Yet the dude on the front porch of the country store who dropped out of 10th grade after his third try always knows more.
