    If they aren’t playoff teams and the regular season is over, why are they playing?
    It’s a 24-team playoff this year
    Therefore they are playoff teams and shouldn’t be in the lottery

    Same. Are the round robin games going to start at the same time(ish)?

    But I'm not really complaining that this could take a bit of time. Playoff hockey is the best hockey and there isn't much else on besides KBO and the Bundesliga.

    As a Kings fan, I'm with you. The teams that were left out should be the only ones in the lottery.

    I'm sure a lot of the team reps wouldn't have agreed to that.

    Take the Penguins. They were third in the Metropolitan when things shut down, were a playoff team. ... and now to get in, they will have to face a Montreal team that had no realistic shot of making the playoffs.

    A 3-game series is a crap shoot. Bad enough that some teams are feeling shafted by the format, but on top of it, that kind of crap shoot wouldn't have flown. In a 3-game series, Carey Price can steal 2 games all by himself. In a 5-game series, people often feel like the better team sometimes gets through. No way, they would have gone for a 3-game series.

    I will also note I was staying at the Banff Springs Hotel when Lowe got married there.

    There is a great clip from a Ducks-Flames playoff series in which Iginla fought Francois Beauchemin. The announcer said, well, Jarome just found out that Beauchemin is left-handed. Beauchemin landed about 5 shots in a row. Iginla can laugh about that all the way to the Hall.
