And with that there's the transparency issue in cases like this that have come up in the past in MN.

Hat Man explains the difference between the lockdown protests, where people showed up at statehouses with AR15s because they wanted a haircut as nd s sitdown meal at Red Robin and the protesters in Minnesota. He thinks it has nothing to do with race as nd that threatening government officials with guns is legal.

Klobuchar touts her ability to win over Republican voters. Harris also touts her prosecutor cred - I'm thinking the days of Dems trying to have it both ways on crime are over. Biden has enough baggage with the crime bill of the '90s. He should really go the other way and pick Ayanna Presley who is the daughter and the wife of former felons who have turned their lives around.

That's like saying the coronavirus death totals are way overblown because old, sick people in nursing homes were already old and sick when they got the COVID.

Cops are the first step of the justice system. And cops are universally red. Deep, deep, deep red. No matter what state, city or county they work in.

Do you really think anyone associated with city/state government would have sanctioned this arrest? The fact the MSP was blue probably is the reason these trumped-up charges were dropped so quickly.

Which is why they’re always excluded from the union busting collective bargaining laws Republicans have stuffed through in places like Wisconsin.

Exactly. Let's bust on the teacher's union and civil servants, because we know the cop's and firemen's union would never put up with this shit.

    Cops have always been shady.
I think we are where we have been the last decade or so as a result of Forever War. Many of today's cops are veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq where they became justifiably jumpy but got away with whatever and god knows what they wanted.
We have gone away from protect and serve to a militarized police force.
