I understand the helplessness that lends to protests but the looters are now just blatantly stealing without any protests and this needs to be shut down.

 

The piece offers one reason: Because the issue was a preferred cause for the politicians and media.

Another is that the certitude of death issued on Georgia and Florida hasn't happened.

To be clear: I was fine with the protests.

Last week, even Floyd's family was calling for peaceful, socially distanced protests. As did Jesse Jackson.

"The protests must continue, but around the country ... protest until something happens," Jackson said. He said protests should respect social distancing protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

That was all overwhelmed in a day or so by the opportunists and provocateurs.

And it's not as if the mask issue isn't coming up in the coverage. It is.

Absolutely.
Because nothing says protest like walking out of Target with a couple of flatscreen televisions.

 

Some causes are worth the risk.

This is a very good point.

 

Protestors and looters are not the same people. Lumping them all together is stupid.
