President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Trump's day: The last real president speaks and is presidential, Esper breaks over use of troops against citizens, recalls those stated in DC (reversing under, I suppose, threat of unemployment), Mattis slams him, protests are massive and peaceful, killer cop faces bigger charge and others are charged.

 

Let him take it and own it.

Let's see how that works out for him.

Spoiler alert: It ain't 2015-16.

 

And the idiot deplorables will still vote for him.

 

I can't repeat this enough. They're not a majority. They're not even a "this is close" minority. They're hated and ridiculed just like the man they adore.

 

If I'm Biden, I'm making super discreet contacts with Mike Pence's office and hopefully Pence saying, "If I win on Nov. 3, I want you to think seriously about invoking the 25th Amendment that day. If you don't, you should think seriously about being on trial for your life."

 

A 60-40 outcome is still among the biggest landslides in modern presidential history.

 

I want to agree with this, but I can't figure out why more polls aren't 55-40. I know Trump's base doesn't read the WaPo or the NYT, doesn't watch MSNBC. I'm worried as hell that 40-whatever percent would still vote for the idiot.

 

Great thought, but Pence and all Trump's klan will receive blanket pardons instead. And there's no way in hell that two-thirds of either chamber will vote for removal.

 

I know "what-ifs" are pointless...but what if the impeachment vote was being held tomorrow? I wonder if the outcome might be different.

 

Not to mention, as a former poster would no doubt point out if he had the opportunity, Pence was hand-picked by Putin's favorite operative, Manafort.

 

You might get a couple of Trumpist Senators to flip, but certainly not enough to make a difference.

 

On Nov. 4, Trump is likely to blow up the world in fury. Mike Pence ain't that ready for the rapture. Also, worth noting Trump doesn't seem to give out that many pardons to his inner circle. None, in fact. For him, if Biden wins, his Nov.4 message to Trump should be "sit down and do nothing, or I'll strap you to the gurney myself."
