Looks like the klan has decided on Jacksonvile. The last time they were this happy in that market, they stole an NFL expansion franchise from more deserving places.

And the timing is, like the rally in Tulsa, perfect for their brand.

Under the current schedule, Trump would accept his nomination on Aug. 27. In Jacksonville, that is the 60th anniversary of Ax Handle Saturday, when a mob of 200 white people chased peaceful civil rights protesters with ax handles and baseball bats. Events to commemorate that anniversary are already planned in a park not far from where Trump would accept the nomination.

That's - quite - a disappointment.

 

A city which doesn’t have enough hotel rooms unless they park a bazillion cruise ships under the bridges downtown.

 

America, my question to you is whether you are OK with electing a RACIST PRESIDENT IN 2020? Someone who has actively persecuted minorities, the disabled, women and now revels in reliving our racist past?

 

I'm afraid we know the answer. Trump's klan controls access to the polls and vote-counting mechanisms in a lot of places.

 

I think Fort Zhukov has a nice ring to it.

 

if only you would have yielded on abortion we would not have to support someone who persecutes minorities, the disabled, and women so this is really your fault if you think about it besides you got the bathroom rights you wanted and that we have no more lavatory law and order is an affront in the face of god so that should be enough but it's never enough is it

A.S. Johnston’s reputation benefited by him dying so early; he never had a chance to disappoint.

That also worked for John Reynolds, who was smart enough to turn down command of the A of the P. Better to die a hero as a highly-regarded corps commander than be a McClellan/Burnside/Hooker-level failure as the leader of the whole shebang.

 

That was one long story. Enjoyable to read so much Trumpist angst.
Having said that, I wonder if they'd have been better from a PR and donor (i.e. Koch) standpoint to air Ivanka's speech, take the hit and let it fade. I really don't know.
