So glad that NASCAR is taking great steps to disassociate itself from the Confederate flag and people clinging to the history of racism in the old South.

Now, lets all sit back and enjoy today's running of the Dixie Vodka 400.

What's the over/under on the number of flags or variants that show up at Talladega this weekend?
I'll take the over, whatever it is.

Will they even try to deal with flag shirts and such or is it just about getting rid of the big flags? Still very skeptical about the enforcement of this. But as long as Nascar is limiting on-site media, that will help bury any possible story about the enforcement not going well.

I'd like to hear what they have to say about someone flying a Ga. or Miss. state flag.
Georgia no longer uses the flag with battle flag as part of it, but Mississippi does (for now). Georgia's is essentially the first national flag of the CSA.
It was kind of convenient for NASCAR to makes it's decision after its race in Atlanta, knowing it will have a year to let things play out.

I'm going to guess there won't be many. With attendance limited to 5,000 and social distancing in place, it's going to be impossible for somebody to display the flag then try to hide it. Everybody is easily distinguishable from everybody else with so much open space.

That might be the case if they were racing in Vegas or New Hampshire. We're talking Talladega here.

I've seen Confederate flags at Loudon. More than one, I might add.

So the other day I was listening to a random rock channel on Sirius/XM and the DJ gave an off-the-cuff recitation of NASCAR's rebel flag ban, and concluded by voicing her approval for such a fine thing. Then she transitioned to her promo..."and if you're a NASCAR fan you can tune in to channel whatever right now for the...uh....um....oh....um, the Dixie Vodka .400" It was the vocal equivalent of a double-take, and I nearly ran off the road in laughter.
