The way I see this unfolding is they present some evidence for a vaccine - that being the October Surprise - or do so knowing it's a bullshit lie.

 

Absolutely. They'll claim Moderna, which has no track record and which has placed its Trumpist CEO as Trump's vaccine czar, has developed the perfect, incredible, tremendous vaccine. It will be nonsense, but it will make a difference.

Unlike Trump, any company presenting an ineffective or fake vaccine as the real thing is placing itself, and more importantly its executives, in serious criminal legal jeopardy. Is the government throwing money at the walls of any vaccine project? Yes, so are other governments. But that's it so far. And the "try some bleach" episode may have given the public a reasonable dose of anti-Trump bullshit vaccine on this topic.

The NOAA statement, issued Sept. 6, 2019, contradicted its own meteorologists at a weather forecast office in Birmingham, Ala.
The scandal over the forecast for Hurricane Dorian has come to be known as "Sharpiegate," after Trump modified a NOAA forecast map shown in an oval office briefing to depict the storm threatening Alabama.

I actually expected five would do so.
But then I looked at Trump's reaction this afternoon. He didn't criticize it. He hasn't suddenly mellowed. Even he knows that public sentiment -- 71% of his klan in one recent survey -- oppose firing people over sexuality or gender identity.
Other SCOTUS news was interesting. The Court rebuffed a dozen gun-rights cases, refusing to hear them next term.
