So your friend believes that federal law should ALLOW employment discrimination against LGBTQ workers?
I have a hard time respecting anyone who thinks this.
In fact, I'm having a really difficult time with relatives who have displayed their awful, racist, sexist and homophobic sides these last few years. It's all come to the front lately, and has me more than depressed. I'm angry, disgusted and wondering how I ever cared about these people.
If I ask them to read thoughtful, reasoned articles, they mostly refuse, claiming they are "fake news." Two words I've come to despise more than any other words.
Advice welcome, from anyone here going through the same.

 

I don't know if I have any advice, but I feel your pain. Luckily, mine aren't with family as much as associations. I've stopped going to certain events where I know there will be more than one or two of them (mostly 70+ year olds). I can deal with, parry, evade a couple, but I just don't want to deal with large groups of them. It's more effort than it's worth because they aren't going to listen to anything you say.

 

I wondered the same thing, but I almost think it's more a case of him saying, "It doesn't affect me personally, so I really don't care. I never cared about any of this. Can I have a rally now? That's what matters."
