That's what English, literature and history classes are for. The fact that a lot of people believe others need to be told what and how to think -- as if they don't have the morals to know -- because they know right from wrong and can see and think about things for themselves, and within at least some context, is kind of disturbing.

But then, maybe you're right, and those shortcomings are, in fact, the root of today's problems.
