David Pearson should have been in the first class and not both Frances.

I love Junior but he’s the Tracy McGrady of Cup drivers, and that might be insulting Tracy McGrady.

Now that you've said it, NASCAR would hire IROC sorts if they thought that throwing caution flags for debris with 10 laps to go wasn't enough.

Brian France lives on within the organization, eh?

The reaction of most casual Nascar fans to the HOF announcement was likely far more "who was Mike Stefanik again?" than "how did Junior get in?" Junior's plaque/display/whatever they do (haven't been to the Hall -- is it worth a trip when in Charlotte?) will immediately be one of the most popular in the building.

I've honestly never been. I've been by it a few times. From what I've seen, the far more interesting to me would be the displays of the old cars. I'd actually be willing to bet there is at least one that I have sat in back in the day when fans were allowed in the pits after the race and Petty, Pearson, Allison, etc. didn't mind kids crawling all over their race cars.

I’m old enough to remember when NASCAR raced at the old Texas World Speedway near College Station on ABC’s Wide World of Sports.

The track was still there and was used for testing in 2003 when I went down there and did a story on it. It’s a carbon copy of Michigan. I’m told it was finally closed three years ago and used to store cars damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The local flea market has three or four stands selling Trump flags, which I assume is what they’ll replace their treason flags with.

I'd contend that the former is more so than the latter.

They're building houses on the site, but this story doesn't say if it's on the track itself.

I remember when they ran a couple ARCA/Winston West races there in the '90s. Seemed like they were trying to get it going again. Then Bruton built TMS.
