Or they’ll end up in an ICU with a ventilator tube shoved down their throats while their lungs fill up with fluid and their blood coagulates inside their blood vessels, giving them blood clots that may end up in their lungs or brain. Any of the aforementioned may kill them. On the other hand, those people may recover … and if they’re really lucky they’ll get 100 percent of their lung capacity back as they recover.

Our ICU units will be overflowing within weeks. June has been worse than April.

Fuck sports. We don’t need sports. We don’t need something to allow us to pretend things are normal, because guess what motherfucker? THINGS AIN’T NORMAL.

This isn’t ancient Rome and we neither have nor need gladiators slaughtering each other in the coliseums as a distraction from reality so we can pretend that things are getting back to normal when in fact they are not getting back to effin’ normal.

This is serious shit and people are getting sick and dying from it as we speak.

I don't believe the owners agree with that assessment.

You don’t need a raging pandemic for LeBron James or Mike Trout to get sick. That’s an anecdotal event, one guy. So long as the virus is around, that threat looms. It looms if they don’t play, too. They could get it anywhere, anytime. The virus isn’t moral. It will not spare a pro athlete who doesn’t play a season.

Anyone can get this disease doing pretty much anything. In fact, the above happened without a single sport being played.

You’re missing the point, of course. And frankly, you’re being obtuse. That’s a bad angle to take.

Why take a chance on intentionally exposing people who aren’t essential to the coronavirus? Because professional and college athletes are certainly not essential.

(Unless you’re Donald Trump and you’re desperate to get people to buy into the lie that “Things are getting back to normal!”)

Why expose anyone doing anything inessential?

I mean, that’s square one territory.

How’d the EPL get back? England has been hit harder than the US has.

I’ll grant you this: Sports might not come back for awhile. If the players by and large say no they say no, that’s it, that’s all, it doesn’t matter how they come to that conclusion. It’s their call. And I respect that decision, either way.

And America is running out of options on the teevee. True suffering isn't the Covid, it's all these old games on replay in standard-definition.

The reason why sports in the US are fucked is simple: We are the fucking joke of the entire fucking world in dealing with the disease. It starts with the fucking should be dead of a KFC induced heart attack joke of a “president” who has ignored everything. The Bundesliga has been fine. The various Asian baseball leagues have been fine. But this orange twat who runs this country has given governors the license to ignore basic health measures, therefore, many unnecessary positive tests. I can’t wait until he fucking burns in hell.
