It looks like New York will be announcing guidelines for schools by July 15. They also have a state task force working on re-opening plans. My local district has been part of a county-wide committee as well as holding its own meetings. They are starting to bring on parents, so I'm volunteering.

I like that they are coming up with multiple plans rather than just one. One of those is having everybody back in the classrooms come September. They are looking at hybrid options. They are looking at virtual options, but that seems to be more as a contingency in case there is a big spike once schools return. I really don't want to see them open with virtual learning in the fall.

One major stumbling block seems to be transportation. School buses tend to be crowded. To even attempt social distancing would take doubling the number of buses or more. This assumes parents will actually be willing to put their children on a bus, but many don't have any choice.

To me, it comes back to the federal government not doing its job. They came up with all that stimulus money for corporations, but what about making sure the states have the funding so schools can re-open? President Trump just keeps insisting they open without saying how. Republicans in the Senate want no part of such funding. They would rather talk about changing the law so states can declare bankruptcy. This one is probably more of a Mitch McConnell thing than a President Trump thing, but either way, it is reckless and stupid. Schools can't just throw open the doors and assume children are magically invulnerable to contracting and spreading the virus.

Ted Cruz disapproves. Or so I suspect.
Interesting that Cornyn asked the lord and savior to reconsider the termination of federal funding of testing but Ted didn't immediately weigh in. Gotta stay loyal to the guy who disparages your wife and father at the expense of your 10,500,000 constituents.

Second straight day with ≥ 200 cases. Again, no direct causation with the klan rally has been firmly established, but when you consider the normal time between infection and symptoms, you have to wonder.

Hard to say if the rally had anything to do with it unless people are getting tested before they notice symptoms just because they might have it

    or

This is a prelude to what is to come. The people seeing positive tests got it before the rally and helped to circulate it in the city and we're about to see a shit-ton of cases in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Texas directly linked to this.

True. Can't really tell yet. And we may never know because the Trump campaign isn't about to cooperate in identifying the cultists who attended.

It's probably more of a prelude. I think it is too early for anything huge to be showing up in testing yet. So that's just the way the area was going before the rally. The saving grace is not that many people were there, although still plenty to be an issue.

Our church daycare opened last week. On Monday, one of the workers was sent home with a fever. Yesterday, her C19 test came back positive. The daycare has now closed again.

It’ll probably be hard to tell if a spike is due to the rally or just part of the general uptick, unless it’s found that attendees specifically test positive. The crowd was smaller and those who attended came from all over. However, we do know that COVID was in the house because of Twitchy’s advance party and SS agents.

Not Applebee's, but its cousin Chili's

I want to post something about Chili’s in Podunk. Everyone is talking about the case of Covid that has been confirmed there. First they only found out yesterday and closed the dinning for cleaning immediately. Second due to privacy laws they cannot release information on the person infected. By law they do not have to notify anyone not even the employees. They say if you are symptomatic go get tested. All employees wear gloves and masks the entire 8 hour shifts to keep everyone safe including guests. Everything is sanitized before guests can be seated and they must wait outside. Chili’s has been open for take out the entire time during this pandemic and had no issues. This was a newly hired employee who tested positive. Everyone complained about not having freedom and not being able to go out and now they complain about the possibilities of catching it while being out. Covid is everywhere. There are people out with it that don’t even know they have it walking around shopping next to you. If you are so concerned about catching it than please stay home. Do not put blame on restaurants and businesses who opens to serve you and give you some freedoms back. It is your choice to go all they can do is offer a safe clean environment to the best of their abilities. Thanks for reading.

If they can't identify the positive individual by name, aren't they going a long way toward outing him or her by identifying him or her as a new employee at a specific location?
