if we want sports we need to handle the wider transmission of the virus

we haven't done that, and seem unlikely to do so

    ergo, no sports

I am 100 percent on board with this. Sean Doolittle said it best -- sports is the reward of a functioning society. We are not a functioning society in regards to this virus.

The NHL thing might just work because it's being conducted in Canada. I have no faith in the NBA, MLB or MLS things working.

    Golf, tennis...

Maybe diving hits it big this summer? Team gymnastics?

The Top Rank / ESPN boxing bubble in Las Vegas seems to be holding.

There's golf, maybe, and tennis, maybe. NASCAR maybe.

That might be it for the USA this year.

I'm getting a kick out of watching tennis players pick up their own balls and towels.

Except there are sports. Golf and car racing are sports.

There’s probably going to be more sports whether you approve of the plan or not. But we’ll see. Teachers may boycott returning to school in some places. I could imagine a lot of institutions facing a kind of revolt.
