There's a reason these rulings have a day to themselves. It's so the Trumpists can end the term with a big ol' party.

I'm not so sure they'll get a sweep. That's the sort of thing that leads to court packing legislation. Split decision (no to Congress, yes to New York AG) is my bet. The Supreme Court follows the polls as well as the election returns.

Last day of the term. Speculation of retirements, which I do not buy.

I don't imagine any of the minority four will retire NOW. Thomas and Alito would be prime candidates, but it's very very hard for Supremes to let go. Also, a Trump replacement is ANOTHER fight that would just motivate more Democrats than Republicans. I agree they'll stand pat.

Whatever is in Fatfuck's "tax returns," it is 100.0000% pre processed horse fudge. He's been a tax criminal since the day he was born. Those returns were already scrubbed clean. They won't show shit.

I can see Thomas bowing out -- he's the longest serving among this bunch, would have to make it past 76, assuming Biden wins, or get to 80 assuming Republicans win in 2024 -- and you know McConnell would ram through the selection before the election. And if they get a Black candidate in his mold to succeed him and keep the line of Marshall-Thomas-TBA, I think he would go for it

Nobody's retiring now. But if Trump loses, any Trumpist justice thinking of getting out will immediately send the letter to the klan leader, who will inform The Turtle, who will ramrod through some asshole certified by the Federalist Society and the Liberty Forum and Focus on the Family and any number of other hate groups.

The only amusement is McConnell explaining how it's OK to replace a justice during an election year this time, but it wasn't OK during Obama's last turn.

Mitch don’t give a Fauci about intellectual consistency. Pure power all of the time.

There won’t be enough time to do that in a lame-duck session. The Dems can easily gum that up and run out the clock.

If Thomas does retire now, he’s sending a huge bat-signal that Twitchy is going down in flames. But it’ll be a hard-righty replacing another hard-righty, so it’ll be relatively straight forward.

This year has been a disaster already. Sure, let's have a SCOTUS retirement to pile on.
