President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Started on a Sunday on a nearly empty boat?
Resulting in what many experts are saying is the complete destruction of it.*
Coming within a couple of days of our transiting two aircraft carriers in the South China Sea.
Just seems...odd.

*Scuttling the BR would make Trump the first President since FDR to lose an aircraft carrier (yes, I know, BR is not a CVN but it’s a boat that was being fitted to launch and recover F-35b’s so that makes it an aircraft carrier in my book, dammit).

Had beers with a friend tonight. Sharp guy. University prof. Hates Trump.

Says, a few minutes into chatting: "I'm afraid Trump, with the schools, might have found a winning issue."

 

Considering he has no real say on it, seems about right

 

By November when a bunch of schools have closed up after spreading disease, I'm thinking it won't be a winning issue for him

 

So the voters are going to vote for him because schools are opening (supposedly) while ignoring:

Charlottesville
BLM Movement in light of Racism OUT OF CONTROL
RUSSIA/UKRAINE
Massive Unemployment
STONE, COHEN and MANAFORT

I forgot too, RUSSIAN BOUNTIES!!

If that happens, I could not be more ashamed of the country I pledged allegiance to every day of my primary school days and that I swore to uphold the laws as I was sworn in as an officer of the court. I would be utterly despondent at my fellow citizens and would move out; seriously. The USA would collapse and I’m out.

 

I thought kids were off limits

 

If putting children and teachers at greater risk of helping spread COVID-19 among themselves and the families to whom they take it back home is a "winning issue" that gets him enough votes to be re-elected, then I'm seeking asylum somewhere else on this planet. Not because Trump will still be in power. Rather, it will be because I no longer want to be surrounded by people who view children as pawns in a pandemic.

 

Really? Here’s a list of Trump’s accomplishments as president.
1. I sent a lot of people a check this year. Yeah, I know that included a lot of dead people and companies with ties to the Chinese military, but at least none of those people are burning down our cities.
2. My friends have made a lot of money in the market.
3. I’m playing a hell of a lot of golf.

 

They don’t govern. They don’t offer solutions. They don’t cope with a pandemic.

Instead it is about the “with me or against me stuff“. And what’s amazing is that all of the sheep immediately fall in line.

Our town in NJ had a recent spike, especially around young people, which seems to be traceable to a graduation party. I made the mistake of commenting on a Facebook post for town residents where someone wrote that all of the recent positive tests were fake and that other countries didn’t have this problem (I know, never engage the crazies). Immediately, I got a bunch of replies with pictures of cans of Goya.

It is a cult.
