I don't see how inside sports happen in any way. I still think football impacts too many people who aren't even playing let alone those who are, even if they did the sideline social distancing (yeah, right once they get out there) and no fans.

Not to mention, a lot of kids play, for example, volleyball and basketball. Or football and baseball. Especially at smaller high schools.

Moving fall sports to winter/spring would create so many problems.

I've never understood why this is an option? Because we automatically know things will be better. But also, when do they play those other sports or do they just scrap them all together but keep football because it's the bread winner?

I understand the sentiment of wanting to let high school seniors have one more shot at playing their sport. But there already were a bunch of those seniors who missed their final baseball, softball, golf and track seasons this past spring.

It sucks, but keeping them, their families and the community safe during a pandemic takes priority. They're kids, they will adjust*.

    * — my nephew plays high school volleyball in Arizona, and his team got in exactly one match before COVID shut schools and sports down. He likes to brag about his team's unbeaten season!

The option they gave for that was to start volleyball after basketball, and make the kids choose between volleyball and softball, because there isn't as much crossover

On the TV news just now, Texas HS football official said they're prepared to go into January, if needed, to complete the season. So, we got that going for us, which is nice.

Pretty much. I can tell you for certain that it is possible to clear six figures on a Friday night home game. Do that five times, and it pays a whole bunch of bills.

Speaking of ... did you see that story out of NYC about the hit on the tech CEO?

This one ain't going over well in SEC country. Never mind that the govnuh of Georgia still won't require masks and has specifically forbidden cities -- where, you know, some of those people live -- from requiring masks. Forget that. The libruhl media who are stirring up concern are the real problem. Because Coach O says, "America needs football."
