Be a friend and give him $12,000. Don't be selfish.

Fuck me, I'm about to work the corners I really don't want to but...

So your friend is dead wrong that the governor is doing this just to spite small business, but small business has a reason to be nervous. Losing $12,000 is no small thing. Businesses are hurting right now and the longer this goes on, we're going to see more pain. Now we can't just throw everything open and pretend it will be good in the name of the economy, but businesses are going to need to figure out how to survive. That's why mask policies are so badly needed and people need to follow them. We can't reopen a night club right now, but we're going to see some massive pain before this gets better.

We haven't seen squat. Looks to me like we're about to have three more New York sized death totals. And it hasn't gotten cold yet.

I was just talking the economic impact. There's going to be huge economic pain before this gets better. Just look at the airline industry.

The human toll is nothing short of catastrophic and I pray we don't see a huge death toll again. The encouraging thing is the demographics of who is getting this is skewing younger than before which might save lives. But we'll see.

My college lit teacher said America has never had a massive tragedy with deaths of millions on the scale of what countries like Russia have suffered through, therefore there hasn’t been a Great American Novel.

l don’t know how true that is, but we’re well on our way to finding out.

My district approved distance learning to start the year and they said it will be extended until January when they'll reevaluate.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has often been called the Great American Novel, but the last few chapters belie that notion. Twain struggled with that for years and still didn’t get it right.

My opinion: Hemingway or Faulkner, pick ’em.

I don't now. I took a class that was just Faulkner. I appreciate his work, but sometimes I really wanted to go back in time and punch him in the face.
