Scholarly article on black anti-semitism. Much Of it is religion based. Jews killed Christ, they sang in church.

Of all the horrors of slavery and the failure of the country to accept the freed blacks on the same terms as all other immigrants, the one thing that continues to baffle me is religion. The white man’s religion Was used to justify slavery. Though abolitionists tried to use Christianity against slavery, it was a minority point of view that gained little traction.

The freed slaves took with them the Master’s religion. Stripped of everything, they clung to the philosophy and institution that enslaved them for generations.

t was the Catholic King and Queen of Spain that sponsored Columbus. To bring riches for their holy wars. 1492 was the SpanishInquisition, killingand torturing Jews they didn’t exile or convert. When it was found there were inhabitants in the New World, priests came to convert the natives, failing to convert, and even in conversion, they were slaughtered in the name of Christ and the CHurch. The Euro slave traders did their work with the literal blessings of the church. Why blacks kept their slave religion is beyond me?

 

Many didn’t keep Christianity. See, for example, the NOI and the Black Hebrews (which brings us full circle in this conversation). It would have been pretty tough to go back to their tribal religions when their ties were cut and they didn’t even necessarily know which tribes they descended from.

 

The overwhelming majority of African Americans are a denomination of Christian. The older I get the more Catholics is see too, which somehow surprised me, don’t know why. The Christian missionaries did a helluva job in Africa. 40% of the continent is Christian. Mainly subSaharan south and central Africa.

She didn't just get hit by a vehicle: She got smashed by a fire truck! If that isn't karma, I don't know what is.

Edit: it was a pick up truck, but still. The only thing more apropos would be a van carrying people to a citizenship ceremony.
