Where I live, there's no need to. Very remote location.

Indoors in public yes. Outdoors, mostly no, with exceptions. We've kind of dispelled the idea that you can catch it in passing on the street. Obviously, it would be a little different on a super crowded street in NYC or any other big city.

No option to not wear one indoors around here (other than at home). It's been mandated for months in stores, indoor places, etc. Doesn't mean everyone is good about it, unfortunately. I wear one outside 75 + percent of the time. If there are people around I have it on. If I am not around anyone else, I'll put it in my pocket. The people who have it down by their chin or who put it over their mouth but not over their nose, annoy me, especially when I am in a store. The one exception for me outdoors is when I am jogging in the morning. But I head out around 5 am when there are few people out yet and I have a mask with me to slip on on the off chance I find myself around a lot of people. Otherwise. I just try to stay away from people.

No option to not wear one where I am. Annoying aside: As infrequently as I leave the home base, last time I was out, two people were not wearing masks and two more had them around their chins. One of these people was an employee inside at a corner-style drugstore.

Always indoors, I carry it with me outdoors and use whenever I'm within 6-10 ft of anyone else.

I saw a surgeon give the reminder its really for others, the surgeon wears the mask to protect the patient mostly because they're in a very susceptible position and everything needs to be sterile for the patient.

The jackass scratching-off lottery tickets at the corner store needs to do it somewhere else.

Because that person will eventually keep snaking back to the counter for more tickets.

If I gave enough of a shit I would complain. Just fucking do it somewhere else.

So I can buy my shit without having to dodge your ass while doing it.

I have tried to be polite to people buying piles of scratch-offs in the lottery line, but I really just want to get my one Powerball quick pick and my one Megamillions quick pick and GTFO. They can stare at the screen on the automated vending machine if they want to play that indecision game.

The ones that get me are when, after all the bets are placed and all the $$$ is cashed out, say “Oh, what’s that?” then buy a few more tickets while I stand there and quietly stew

You cannot catch COVID 19 from walking past people outdoors, fortunately.
