I wonder if he's the only other catcher on the 60-man roster. This isn't like years past where you can find a vet hanging around in AAA and sign him for a week.

In the words of the late, great George Kell, the Tigers are playing the Cin-cin-NAT-ta ball club

    Tap-

Harold Reynolds made a good point about that.

There is no minor-league season so all the teams are taxiing their best prospects.

And those guys are going to play if a team start 10-30 or whatever. There's no reason for them not to.

I knew I would like it when it got started.

I just worry whether the games can be taken meaningfully when they don't feel that way.

If you approach it as an elite northeastern wood-bat league (no fans and no expectations) then it is pretty good to watch, I think.

Why would you waste a year of service time for 1 or 2 weeks of time?

Harold Reynolds has never made a good point.

I can think of a hundred people I'd rather not hear speak about baseball than Harold Reynolds.

In a sixty game season, 2 weeks is the equivalent of about 5 weeks in a regular season.

The instrument hasn't been invented which can measure how little I care whether Braves ownership has to pay a market rate salary a year early, three years from now.

Fair enough. I'm coming at this as a fan of a "rebuilding" team. So my mileage may vary.

This is pretty cool, and it seems like something the Blue Jays have been building toward for a few years now:
