I don't know if it's a wow. The Irish really had no choice.

None of this is going to happen. I will be astonished if there's any college football by October 1. And that's a generous estimate. Gonna be a worse clusterfuck than MLB.

Well, of course. I've been on the record about this for months. I know there are billions of dollars at stake. Thus, three of the Big Four starting up. But college football? Yeah, no.

Everything I hear is that Gameday and SEC Nation will most likely operate like NFL Live with a lot of remote home office set ups. Not sure if they are going to be calling most games in the studio or on location.

Here's the problem with college football. It's in the same spot within the University that Federal Reserve is with say...Bank of America...it's too big to fail. Going without college basketball and college football and possibly college basketball again in a calendar year is going to be a disaster for many schools, well beyond their athletic department. So if college football doesn't happen, someone or ones is going to have to consider how to bail them out. This isn't some morality discussion about whether it's the "right" thing to do. We're so far beyond that in college sports. It's gone so far down that dark road it isn't coming back.

So my belief is that they are watching what the NBA is doing, what NHL is doing and what the MLB is doing and will consider some sort of bubble. Can the Power conferences convince their University presidents to "bubble" the players on campus this fall so they have the best chance of getting football played? The best way to do it would be if students didn't return to campus. Of course it's fucked up that students wouldn't be allowed on campus to guarantee that football is played and the football players are kept as safe as possible, but again, we're beyond of point of them caring if something looks fucked up or not.

I am convinced they are going to do whatever it takes to get on the field as many times as they can this fall. So if that's the case, make sure it's as safe as possible.

The SEC will kickoff in September and eventually crown a champion. I guarantee it.

Here's why I think UF President Fuchs will do everything he can to get school started in the fall. Footbawwwwwl is important, but it's truly a drop in the bucket compared to losing all that research money if he shuts it all down. Both quotes are from UF's media relations news releases.

The University of Florida received $776.2 million in research funding in fiscal year 2019. About 68 percent of UF's total funding came from the federal government, which awarded $526.8 million.

In 2016, the UAA's overall profit was $20,133,9936, with football generating a profit of $47,803,655.

But if football is merely a TV show and doesn’t bring in paying fans, does that profit still exist?

So many players rarely set foot in a regular classroom with non-jock students these days - particularly in-season - it's not that much of a stretch.
