You know if Weaver had buzzed someone's head with his FB at the end they would have smiled and tipped their cap because it was what 83-84? (Ok, cheap shot)

BTW, I like Mark DeRosa immensely on MLB Network and his take today was that the Astros definitely have been pompous and tone deaf in their response to the scandal (he pointed out Bregman was a rookie in '17 and HE's the guy out front?) but Kelly headhunting was so wrong.

8 games is ridiculous but after the first buzz behind Bregman, he should've gotten the warning and once he threw behind Correa, yeah you're gone.

Sonny Gray has taken the “bull by the horns” in the National League Cy Young race. And I think the Cubs must regret trading Nick Castellanos.

It was good to see the “Redlegs” bounce back.

Altuve should be required to dress in front of an umpire.

If the coach is the first base or third base coach, we might have an idea on the identity of one of the infected Jeters.

Angels first base coach Jesus Feliciano left the team in Oakland last weekend. They just said he left the team. No explanation, then they joked about Jose Molina taking his place and not going after a foul ball. And then another guy was there later in that game. I guess Molina, the catching coach, had to go coach some catching.
I don't recall if Feliciano was back last night. I will check again tonight.

I remember that little quip about Molina and the coach being gone, and thinking that Rojas and Gubicza were being a little flip about it.

Those guys mix in roster moves almost parenthetically during their play-by-play. I think that's significant. There should be a segment during the pregame where they explain who is in, who is out, and the reason if they can. I mean, isn't it pretty obvious Feliciano tested positive? Of course, they can't announce the reason in that instance. And last night, Josh Bard comes in to pitch late in the game and they say he was called up from Long Beach and Patrick Sandoval was sent down. I hate the Roster Roulette with the pitching staff.

Now this is getting to be a problem. Two teams in the same, five-team division will be off for a week and will miss games they won’t be able to make up. If this thing finishes as scheduled, you’ll have the Mets, Washingtonians and Braves at 60 games and the Jeters and Phils at maybe 56. Competitive integrity is fading.
