And when the fuck did Jose Conseco start playing golf?

Jesus. It’s like a 6-6 Ivan Putski fucked Karsten Solheim’s daughter in 1990.

Damn that was fun. Seeing Wolff make a run was cool too. Only thing missing was another guest spot from Phil.

morilawa’s swing is so pretty, just classic. He has just as many majors as missed cuts. Let that sink in.

Here's my "OK, Boomer" rant. While the roar of a huge crowd for a great putt, sand save or change of momentum really adds to the emotion and adrenaline of a major, what a nice change of pace to not hear "BAA-BAA BOOEY!", "MASHED POTATOES!" or "GET IN THE HOLE!" on every tee shot.

Much of that is amplified by the audio editor in the truck cranking up the shotgun mics placed at the tee boxes to try and accentuate the sound of the club hitting the ball. But there are other ways to baffle or mute mics so that the one screaming drunk dude isn't so obvious. You don't hear that at Augusta or even on the PGA Tour radio feed.

But the network producers or directors have made the decision that every shot should sound like a Caddyshack soundtrack, so here we are. And they're also trying to win Emmys for best live event sound, which is why everything is "sweetened."

But it was refreshing to hear the swing and watch the flight of the ball without Joe Sixpack's extortations.

Every time I see “OK, Boomer” I have to go back and look twice, because my first thought is always that it’s some sort of sarcastic reference to Chris Berman.

Something else I could do without is how announcers apologize, sounding like a fictional 19th century maiden aunt, when a golfer says "Fuck" and their bazillion mics pick it up. Golfers cuss. If that offends somebody, so what?

Watching Tony Finau do his swing after Olaf the Destroyer swing was fantastic.

It was weird when they announced the leaders at the first tee and no one cheered.

The PGA may need fans at the course for their economic model, but there is no way in hell that you will ever convince me that it enhances the viewing experience at home. No way in hell.

There was one tee on the back nine that people could congregate at the fence, and what is the first thing I heard? "GET IN THE HOLE" on a tee shot.

    Golf fans are the worst.

Enjoyed Wolff's happy-feet and unique swing, and the rainbow-colored golf shoes.

Plus he's all of 21, which is the same age as my son ...

With or without fans, that was championship golf. Day made a post round comment that “some handle [pressure] of fans” better than others, which maybe true when fans are there but I took that as a sorta asterisk for whoever won. IMHO on the back 9 you could see the pressure for all of them. There’s no asterisk for Collin.

Everyone in the top 10 except one was under par on Sunday. They had to make shots to stay in the hunt and they all did, except the winner made one more (and what a one it was). I don't think it's surprising that ferociously competitive professional athletes don't need an audience to generate competitive pressure/adrenaline for them.
