I'm sure it wasn't on the conference call, but follow the $$$.
When the know-nothings in Orange County can figure this out, why can't the know-it-alls in Canada??

Lay out how this all happens and there is never a leak. You might also want to check out Bettmans relationship ship with Dolan.

I take it you’re a fan of this group.

    Remarkable times require remarkable measures.

This is a league that rigged the lottery for the big market Oilers to get number 1 overall 3 years in a row.

Doesn't matter who own da team. When NY prospers, the league prospers.

Yes, you are the fool. You have no historical perspective . Just blind conspiracies, the same shtick since you started here. Refs are out to get the Ducks, east coast bias , blah, blah,

This league has bent over backwards for the shit markets around the league making sure they can be compete, which comes at the expense of big markets. The big markets have propped up Bettman’s stubbornness in these markets.

OK. Most of what you say is true. But consider, also, that he screwed up going into markets such as Florida and Arizona, so he has to "bend over backwards" to try to keep them going to save face. Prosperous NY helps the whole league.
I vented about the refs, true, (on a fucking discussion website) but for you deny East Coast bias is blatant head-in-the-sand. Example from last week was Columbus' comeback vs. Toronto. The announcers were calling if the greatest comeback in playoff history, or, the greatest comeback they've ever seen. In fact, there were two that were greater, both on the West Coast -- Miracle on Manchester and Comeback on Katella.
    Done here ... for now.

    Haha. That’s called recency bias.

Also, what makes the Ducks comeback so obviously better than the Leafs, 50 seconds?

I like conspiracy theories myself and believe some of them . . . but one of the teams in the running for the top pick was Minnesota. Craig Leipold, for all his faults, is desperate to win and will spend whatever he can to do it, but his team is devoid of top-tier talent except for Kaprizov (who is unproven in the NHL) and has no chance of seriously contending in the future unless that changes. I find it a little hard to believe he'd willingly and quietly agree to give up his team's best chance to get a top pick without bottoming out and going into the lottery in a conventional year, so the only alternative would be that he was kept him in the dark about the whole plan. Let's just say I doubt the ability of Gary Bettman's NHL to successfully pull that off.

Of course he wouldn’t, it’s ridiculous.
