I've forgotten more about baseball than you'll ever know.

First major-league game in Buffalo tonight since the 1915 Buffalo Blues of the Federal League played there. Beautiful triple-A park, right downtown with great views of the skyline and Lake Erie close by.

Baldy Louden actually had a full head of hair. However, his balls were as smooth as hen’s eggs. Hence the nickname.

If I watched any more old baseball during the pandemic I'd have wound up building a fucking mountain out of mashed potatoes.

Baseball would’ve been smarter to avoid Miami in that expansion and go to Buffalo instead. Natural rivalries with the Indians and Jays and Yankees.

IIRC, the prospective Buffalo owners voluntarily dropped out of the expansion derby because they decided that running an MLB franchise would be too costly.

It worked out great. Buffalo has neither the corporate nor population base to be a successful MLB franchise. Triple-A is perfect.
