    A tradition unlike any other.

Precisely what I said when I heard him on Saturday. The insight is worthy of letting him have more than nuggets and snippets of time. And, since Jim Nantz works with Tony Romo during NFL broadcasts, Nantz knows how to get out of the way.

Nantz gets a lot of grief on here. "Hello friends." His syrupy intros, not just Augusta. But he is damn freakin' good. He really brings out the best in Romo. He knows how to control the broadcast. It's unreal how he can do it in such different environments, from the NFL to March Madness to Augusta to even a switch from Augusta to the PGA Tour.

Agreed. For someone who gets blasted all the time, he appears to have no problem giving up the mic and parking his ego.

I thought Romo reinvigorated Nantz on football broadcasts. Simms was heavy lifting.

Nantz and Phil are tight. Phil was at his wedding, the socialize when he plays at Pebble. I think it’s a comfortable fit. There are also some pretty recent Faldo stories that aren’t flattering.

I’ve always been curious about whether Nantz was consulted on the Kostis and McCord departures.

I used to hate Nantz as too schmaltzy but I’ve come to understand just how good he is.

No fans patrons Augusta, per Bob Harig.

Somewhat surprising, given Georgia's completely lax state policy on just about anything concerning the virus. That's insurance policy over political policy.

Does Romo criticize players when they deserve it? If so, would Phil do the same, or would he still be in buddy mode if he were in the booth full-time?

Of course there are no FANS at Augusta this year -- there never are!
