It's frustrating when the grocery store doesn't carry the generic version of a brand you like.

I ain't paying no $4.29 for no Honey Smacks (when a store brand runs about $1.99).

    I was correct 2 1/2 years ago.

A breakfast joint around here offers a "birthday cake waffle" with a ski slope's worth of fresh whipped cream on top and a garnish of Fruity Pebbles.

Other than that, I haven't had Fruity Pebbles in 30 years.

Stopped eating cereal 2½ years ago as a savings measure when Lee laid me off. Don’t miss the extra sugar at all, and have gotten really good at making scrambled eggs or omelettes in the morning.

Reeses Peanut Butter Puffs. Hands down. Runner ups: Lucky Charms and Honey Grahams.

I have always loved Cracklin Oat Bran. I remember when it first came out when I was a kid and I was hooked right away. Turns out, it has about the same sugar as Fruity Pebbles, so no wonder I loved it.

Granola. Couple of tablespoons of Greek yogurt. Handful of walnuts or pecans. Raisins or craisins. Some fruit, banana/strawberry/raspberry. Add milk.

    Or Honey Nut Cheerios.
