Wow. That’s a resort caddie, not his buddy, brother etc.

Weird move. No doubt some of the caddies there are characters. Maybe he was stoned out of his mind?

    Just flipped into the quarterfinals.

    1. Bandon Dunes is awesome.
    2. They can use rangefinders?

Bandon is great. I’ve been about 20 times. Still can’t rank the courses.

It used to be that the default rule was no rangefinders, but a local rule could permit them. Every am I ever played in permitted them.

Now, the default is that they are legal but a local rule may prohibit them. They can only measure distance, not altitude changes.

A friend, who was a member at Riviera and has played Pebble several times, told me that Bandon Dunes is the best course he has ever played.

I think Pacific is generally regarded as the best 18 at the resort. Trails is crazy underrated.

I haven’t played the Sheep Ranch since it became a real course, but I played it back when it was just a series of tees and greens and you made your own way.

Love the no commercials from the U.S. Am.

US Amateur is absolutely one of the most underrated events to attend in person in sports. Goes for the women's Am, too. Of course there aren't spectators this year, but they had the men's at the Country Club and the women's at Charles River some years back, and it was a blast. Costs next to nothing compared to pro events and you can get very close to some damn good golf.

Yeah, no ropes. I attended a round a few years back at Cherry Hills. And it's coming back here in a few years. And such a grind to win it.
