I had an editor who wouldn't even let me put "sucks" in a headline once.

Hey can someone go out side and check if there's a rider on a pale horse outside? Pestilence is riding around, I just want a warning before death mounts up.

And I'm sharing this since we're all 15 minutes away. Need to be careful.

I think I'd rather take my chances with the plague than Sars Cov 2. Putting aside how scary it sounds, antibiotics will usually take care of it.

When I first came to Cali as a kid, I remember seeing the sign warning us the animals might carry plague. No one seemed worried. Took me a few years to understand why.

Jeez, remind me to not let you numbsk ... geniuses make substantive decisions for me. Treating the plague with antibiotics lowers the fatality rate to about 10%. And that’s for the good kind ... you get the septicemic or pneumonic kind and your ass is probably gone.

I remember being in Houston for the "Urban Cowboy" thing. Stuff like chili cookoffs and armadillo races got real popular. The thing is that armadillos are known to carry Hansen's Disease. The common name for that is leprosy. A few cases of that among the armadillo racers made a dent in the popularity of that one.

I really thought antibiotics are much more effective than that in treating it when I posted that.
