I know it's a CFB thread, but I can imagine Jake From State Farm's joy over the Lions being undefeated at the Colosseum.

Wondering why Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren hasn't yanked his kid off the practice field in Starkville. Does he care less for the safety of his son than the players on 14 Big Ten teams?
Iowa can't play football, but Iowa State, 138 miles away, is.
Penn State can't play football but Pitt, 136 miles away, is.
I don't know the answer and I'd err on the side of safety. But where's the consistency?

    1. Warren doesn't tell the B1G schools what to do; they tell him what they're going to do and it's his job to support/ implement it. He offers his opinions but he's a first year commissioner and hasn't built up a lot of personal clout as Delany had.

    2. Warren doesn't tell Mississippi State what to do any more than any other parent.

    3. Warren especially doesn't tell Pitt or Iowa State what to do.

Of course, all of the hand-wringing is coming before we even come close to those three conferences actually playing games.

You wanna bash the Big Ten, and by association the Pac-12, for making the decision? Someone was going to have to make it. Will it feel better for everyone when the SEC does it in three weeks because it allowed fans to have hope until September?

I think history will say that Kevin Warren was right to pull the plug. It should also say that he owed his constituents a real explanation for why the decision was made and when it was made.

Guys, Sir Yacht has been tweeting for about a week straight that the Big Ten is playing football. Just a matter of how many members. So it's a done deal.
